Well, I tried to find something good to link to, but nothing was good enough. I've been experimenting with a couple of iTunes alarm clocks, iTunes Alarm Clock and iSnooze, because I'm late to class every day just about. They don't seem to help. I think I need to turn up the volume. iSnooze seems to be better; it's got options, while iTunes Alarm Clock just plays one song over and over.
I talked to my math teacher after class today, doesn't look like I'll be passing. Again, sad, and I'm sorry to let you down. I won't be withdrawing, because I want the skills and I don't want to waste time. I've actually already earned a B in this course, hopefully flunking it won't change that. Does that make any sense? If I can demonstrate mastery of the subject, AND I don't erase my previously-earned B, then next semester I'll just take the lab, which is the grade I need to fix.
Today at work I ate a jar of Hearts of Palm, which was pretty good.
It sounds like getting up is the hardest thing you do, and if you don't do it on time, your day is ruined. Am I right? Reason I ask is I had the same problem for a very long time. Nothing worse than failing a class you have a "B" average in because you slept through too many classes to meet the attandance policy. I have failed classes because of it, and I've been fired from jobs. Not easy to deal with, and it makes everything else much worse. I don't know if you are soliciting advice on this topic, but I might could help. Was one good thing about the Marines that you didn't have a choice whether to sleep in? (Unless you're under a truck, of course)
Yes, I'd say waking up is the hardest thing. But I don't have a B in this class. I've taken it before, and gotten a B. I'm taking it again because I flunked the lab first time, and am now trying to fix that.
Back to waking up. Off the top of my head, I'd say the problem is, that at the instant my alarm goes off, I just don't have enough desire, consistently, to be up. I hit snooze, hit it again, ultimately I'm either late or I don't go. If I have a test though, I'm there, on time. The point I'm stumbling towards is that it's all me. I can tweak my environment to make it easier to get up, but if I don't want it bad enough, I won't.
That's tough, and I'm not sure there are any easy answers. One thing that helps me is to make sure the alarm is away from the bed, so you have to actually get up to turn it off. You could always go back to sleep, but maybe you could try setting four or five different alarms to go off at different times within a 20 minute period. By the time you got done with that you might be ready to get up. Also I would suggest making sure you get about seven or eight hours of sleep, and go to bed at the same time everynight, even if you're not tired. Once you get in the habit of going to sleep and getting up at the same time it is pretty easy. Most mornings I wake up right before my alarm goes off. In the end it's just all about how much you want it.
