So.. what happens when resources are limited and mutually beneficial arrangements can't be made? Does a person have the right to defend ill-gotten property? How does he prove to others that his property is legitimate?

How does any of this apply to the real world?

Good questions.

It's true, "resources" are limited, but we've barely begun to scratch the surface of them, and I think mutually beneficial arrangements can almost always be made. Free societies are not utopias.

"Rights" are a concept I'm not really clear on. The way I see it, supporting yourself through force or fraud is a losing proposition. People will hate you for it. Most people don't live like that today not because there are laws against it, but because they know it's wrong.

How would you settle disputes in a free society? Well, I don't know, but I imagine we would do it much the same way we do today, with arbitrators and mediators.

How does any of this apply to the real world? There are a lot of ways to answer, because the question can be taken a lot of different ways. I need to go to bed now, but I'll try to address it tomorrow evening in a full post.

Thank you so much for your comment, I'm very excited to have someone interacting again.
